The Museum of the Applied Art in the Furniture field

The Museum for Applied Art in the Furniture field with its precious collection of contemporary design furniture is open to the public.
The Museum founded by the Aldo Morelato Foundation at its seat has a collection of experimental, unique pieces of design applied to the furniture field.

The prototypes executed testify over 20 years of research and technical innovation in the use of materials and are stylistically and technically linked to the centuries old production tradition of the area, recalling the style of furniture of the twentieth century with historical recoveries and references to the Art Deco, Rationalism and the Liberty period.

The pieces are exhibited with their relating projects, some of which designed by famous designers of art furniture.

Under the guidance of the architect Ugo La Pietra and installed by the architect Sophia Los, the collection is divided into 5 study categories: Editions, Re-editions, Quotations, Allusions and “ I Più Piccoli”.
Every year the collection is enriched with new pieces designed by the winners of the “International Design Contest of Applied Art in the Furniture field” organized by the Foundation.
All pieces exhibited at the MAAM can be manufactured and marketed by the Morelato company.
In June 2009 the MAAM became permanent member of “Deposit Museum Network” headed by the Design Museum of the Triennale Foundation in Milan. This new co-operation has allowed this small museum to enlarge its horizons especially through internet.
In fact all initiatives, news and events organized at the MAAM which are frequently updated can be seen on the official website of the Triennale Museum in Milan.
